Exploring Croatia creative and innovation ecosystem

← Back

As part of the KreNI Startup project, our teams from Mladi Ambasadori (Serbia) and Startup Macedonia had an incredible opportunity to visit Croatia. This study visit was more than a tour; it was an inspiring journey to exchange experiences and explore new ways for culture, gaming, innovation, and creative industries to collaborate.

Nurturing Gaming Talent in Novska

Our first stop was the PISMO Business Incubator (inkubator-pismo.eu), a unique hub dedicated to the gaming industry in Novska. PISMO’s training programs and support for young game developers showed us how an entire ecosystem can thrive around creativity and digital skills. It was a powerful example of how similar models could be adapted in our own countries.

Breathing New Life into Heritage in Šibenik

Next, in Šibenik, we explored the Fortress of Culture Šibenik (tvrdjava-kulture.hr), where heritage sites are transformed into vibrant cultural hubs. We discussed developing joint programs to unite audiences and artists from across the region, blending tradition with contemporary creativity. We also visited the Trokut Incubator (trokut.eu), a center that supports the local innovation ecosystem through mentorship and regional initiatives.

Driving Startup Growth in Split

In Split, our focus shifted to startups and business innovation at the Technology Park Split (tps.com.hr). Our conversations centered on connecting ideas, supporting entrepreneurs, and building bridges for regional collaboration. The openness and energy we encountered sparked countless ideas for future initiatives. We ended the journey with Split Tech City (split-techcity.com), where we explored how community-driven events can bring people together in meaningful ways. Their experience in building a vibrant tech community inspired us to think about new collaborations.

Looking Ahead

This study visit provided valuable insights into Croatia’s cultural and innovation ecosystems. More importantly, it strengthened our belief in the power of regional cooperation. It reminded us that by sharing knowledge, resources, and ideas, we can create a stronger, more connected future for young entrepreneurs and creative communities across the Western Balkans.
